Join us via Zoom for a Purple Prose flash contest (and if there's time, an online write-in).

Read your one-page entry and dazzle us with your skill at crafting overwrought prose. Wikipedia defines purple prose as "overly ornate prose text that may disrupt a narrative flow by drawing undesirable attention to its own extravagant style of writing."

Why have a purple prose contest?

• It's interactive.
• It helps us learn what to do by showing us what not to do.

This meeting is free for all to attend, but only chapter members can compete in the contest. Please do not use AI in your submission; we want to see what glorious nonsense you can create with your own brain.
